
SEMARANG, bk.upgris.ac.id – The Guidance and Counseling (BK) Study Program, Faculty of Education (FIP), Universitas PGRI Semarang (UPGRIS) has once again demonstrated its prowess on the international stage. A number of students from the BK UPGRIS study program have been successfully selected and are ready to be deployed for the prestigious program titled Batch-5 South Thailand Student Internship and Community Service Deployment. The list of outstanding students who passed the selection for this international program includes Anggun Trisna Kirana S., Putri Chairunissa P., Natasya Lina Tusafitriani, Siti Nur Cahayani, Fina Idamatussilmi, Vivi Kosasih, and Rizka Amanda Puspita.
The official send-off ceremony for the student delegates was held on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Central Building of Universitas PGRI Semarang. The procession was solemnly led by the Rector of Universitas PGRI Semarang, accompanied by the leadership ranks of the faculty and the study program.
This international internship and community service program aims to provide a platform for students to apply guidance and counseling science in overseas school environments. Furthermore, this initiative is designed as a concrete effort by the university to equip students with cross-cultural learning experiences, hone intercultural communication skills, and broaden global perspectives within the realm of international education.
During their assignment period in the Southern Thailand region, the selected students will step directly into school environment internships (student internship) while simultaneously conducting community service programs (community service). They are challenged to adapt to the local education system, collaborate with local educators, and introduce Indonesian culture through various educational programs.
The Rector of UPGRIS expressed his highest appreciation and immense pride for the extraordinary dedication and achievement of the BK students who successfully passed the selection for this international program. He advised the students to always maintain the good name of the alma mater, serve as inspiring campus ambassadors, and absorb as much knowledge as possible to build their professional competencies for the future.
